ScanSpot

ScanSpot is our cutting-edge sensor fusion project, developed with the University of Oxford to set a new standard in site safety and resilience. Using a blend of lidar, radar, thermal imaging, CCTV, and low-light sensors, ScanSpot creates a live digital twin of our sites — enabling predictive risk modelling and enhanced situational awareness. With R&D trials already underway, ScanSpot is helping us reduce operational risk, strengthen security, and drive down insurance costs.

PayLoad

PayLoad is an innovative R&D project from Aegis Energy, Swiss partner Innovum and AKTEK, designed to transform how we plan and operate zero-emission infrastructure. By linking smart EV charging with advanced grid demand analytics, PayLoad helps identify exactly where clean refuelling hubs are needed most — and why. At its core is the PayLoad Data Portal, a powerful platform that combines real-time vehicle data, UK-wide energy demand modelling, and environmental inputs to simulate future scenarios and optimise investment decisions.

PowerFarm

Project Powerfarm is a clean energy pilot in Tanzania, led by Aegis Energy and partners including Farm Africa and EcoNomad. It’s designed to support the rapid growth of electric motorcycles and tuk-tuks by providing reliable off-grid charging. Using solar, wind and biogas, the hub will power up to 400 battery charges per day — without relying on fossil fuels. It’s a scalable model for zero-emission transport in emerging markets, with huge potential for community impact.

Zephattan

Project Zephattan is Aegis Energy’s global wind R&D programme, testing off-grid charging technologies in Côte d’Ivoire and Fiji. The project trialled three wind systems — from community-built turbines to mobile power stations — to find locally appropriate, low-cost solutions for e-mobility. The results are now shaping Aegis’ next-generation energy hubs, helping bring zero-emission charging to the places that need it most.
