About us
At Aegis Energy our mission is to decarbonise the commercial transport sector by building a network of clean multi-energy hubs.
Our multi-energy hubs will allow for commercial fleets across the UK to transition away from diesel and other harmful fuels to cleaner alternatives such as electric charging and transition fuels. Our industry-first hubs will do this by providing electric charging and transition refuelling for HGVs and LCVs.
These hubs will be crucial in helping operators to transition, as the current, car-focused infrastructure is not fit for purpose for these large commercial vehicles. The transition to low-carbon logistics is an important part of both local and national carbon footprint reduction plans for the wider national climate-change goal to be carbon neutral by 2050.
Our proposal
We are proposing one of our clean multi-energy hubs on the 7.21-acre site between Skyline Drive, the M62, and Burtonwood Road. This hub will feature:
24 Light Commercial Vehicle electric charging bays
12 Heavy Goods Vehicle high ground vehicle electric charging bays
4 Heavy Goods Vehicle sustainable HVO refuelling bays
8 Heavy Goods Vehicle parking bays, a driver welfare centre, and a truck wash
If built, the site will feature a security gate, fencing, and state of the art technology to ensure both safety and security on the multi-energy hub. The development would preserve the trees on the northern edge of the site, maintaining the green sight lines from the M62 and Junction 8 roundabout, and cultivating new native landscaping that will integrate the site and help enhance biodiversity.
